A Foundation for Recovery: Help Us Build the Lime Street Recovery House

Lancaster County continues to face an overwhelming need for housing and support services for individuals in recovery from substance use disorder (SUD).  We’ve been honored to serve this community for years, and now, we’re taking a step forward to better support the individuals in our care.

We are in the process of transforming our outpatient facility at 436 North Lime Street into a 16-bed, six-month Recovery House—a safe, structured, and deeply supportive place where individuals can continue their healing journey while maintaining outpatient care on-site.

This project isn’t just important—it’s critical.

Studies show that individuals without stable housing are:

  • 29% less likely to stay in outpatient treatment for more than 180 days

  • 9% less likely to complete treatment programs

  • And significantly more at risk of relapse after discharge

The new Lime Street Recovery House directly addresses these barriers by offering safe, accessible transitional housing—paired with outpatient services scheduled around each resident’s work and life commitments. This kind of integrated support dramatically improves long-term outcomes and gives individuals a real chance at sustainable, lifelong recovery.

What Your Donation Supports

Thanks to Cornerstone Design Architects, detailed construction plans are already in place and renovations are underway. This is an interior-only renovation, meaning the exterior will remain intact while the interior is adapted for residential living.

The project includes:

  • Renovation across four levels—basement, first, second, and third floors

  • 16 fire-rated sleeping rooms built to code, using UL-rated partitions and hardware

  • Shared kitchen and multipurpose space for meals, meetings, and peer support

  • ADA-compliant features, improved safety access, and enhanced circulation

  • New fire-rated stairwell separations for life-safety compliance under the International Existing Building Code (IEBC)

  • Upgraded flooring, cabinetry, millwork, and lighting

  • No sprinklers required—thanks to code-compliant design focused on fire-resistance and compartmentalization

This facility is being built not just to code—but with care, ensuring that every detail supports the dignity, safety, and well-being of those we serve.

Why We Need Your Help

The need is urgent. The demand for transitional housing in Lancaster far exceeds current availability, and too many individuals leaving short-term treatment programs have nowhere safe to go.

This is your opportunity to be part of the solution.

By donating to the Lime Street Recovery House, you’re not just helping build walls and doors—you’re building stability, second chances, and hope. Your gift goes directly toward construction costs, safety upgrades, essential furnishings, and the infrastructure that makes this house a home.

Be Part of the Story
