Pillars of Empowerment
2019 Market Street, Harrisburg, PA

Join us on May 15th from 9am-12 pm for a free, comprehensive workshop!
Breakfast & Lunch Provided.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is most effective when it is delivered as a comprehensive, whole-person approach that integrates medication with counseling and ongoing support. Counseling and recovery supports are an essential part of MAT, helping individuals address the underlying emotional, psychological, and behavioral drivers of substance use while developing healthy coping skills and accountability. The benefits of MAT include reduced cravings and withdrawal symptoms, improved stability, lower risk of overdose, and greater retention in treatment—creating the space needed for true healing and long-term recovery. While MAT medications can lead to physical dependence, this is not the same as addiction; when properly prescribed and monitored, these medications support recovery rather than replace one substance with another, allowing individuals to regain stability, restore functioning, and move forward with hope and purpose.  You will learn more about:

  • Counseling & Support (an essential part of MAT)
  • Benefits of MAT
  • Dependence on MAT medications
